Morning News

Did you know that Oak Leaf Elementary has a Morning News Crew composed of our talented fifth graders? These young anchors, camera operators, and reporters are supported by Mrs. Kroll to bring us daily broadcasts that engage the entire school community. Students in every grade level participate in the Morning News program. Here are some of the great news topics we cover:

  • Community Building: Our program is key to building a strong school community, reinforcing unity and shared goals.
  • Announcements & Reminders: Important announcements and reminders keep everyone informed and aligned.
  • Behavior Expectations: We reinforce school-wide behavior expectations to ensure a positive and safe environment.
  • Student Council Updates: The Student Council shares updates on school happenings, keeping everyone in the loop.
  • Math Fluency: We engage students with fun and interactive skip-counting sessions and Math Minutes to boost their math skills.
  • Fun Facts & Logical Thinking: Discover fascinating animal facts and enjoy puzzles that enhance logical thinking.
  • Social Skills Spotlight: We highlight essential social skills, offering tips and examples for students to practice daily.
  • Patriotism: Every day, a student leads a school-wide Pledge of Allegiance. Each Friday, the student body stands and sings our National Anthem together.
  • Student/Class Celebrations: Individual students and classes are able to be celebrated or share their talents and ideas.
  • Teacher Spotlights: Students are introduced to different faculty and staff members each week, so they know the adults at our school.
